FAQ

Frequently asked questions about pre-saves, media conversion, and analytics.

What is a music pre-save link?

A pre-save is a promotional page that allows your listeners to add your upcoming song or album to their streaming library (like Spotify, Apple Music, or Deezer) ahead of time. On release day, the track will automatically appear in their saved tracks list, boosting initial launch numbers.

Is audioshare completely free to use?

Yes, audioshare is 100% free. You can create unlimited pre-save smart links, trim and encode preview loops, export release structures, and generate custom QR codes without any premium upgrades or hidden paywalls.

What listener analytics are collected?

audioshare collects basic visitor analytics to help artists measure the success of their campaigns. This includes total link views, device types (mobile vs. desktop), referral channels (e.g., Instagram, TikTok), and the number of clicks on each streaming platform. All statistics are gathered anonymously without tracking listener identities.

Is my listener data secure?

Absolutely. audioshare is designed as a serverless music utility. We do not maintain a central listener database, log IP locations, or track user profiles. Your release data is stored inside client localStorage or encoded in URL parameters, prioritizing fan privacy.

How does the browser audio trimmer work?

When you upload an audio file during release creation, your browser decodes it locally. Once you specify a playback loop range on the visual waveform, our integrated lamejs encoder transcodes only that range into a standard MP3 preview directly inside your sandbox. No media files are uploaded to our servers.

How do I share my generated smart link?

After finalizing your release page, audioshare generates a custom release address (e.g., /custom-xxxxxx). You can copy this link and embed it directly into your Instagram bio, TikTok bio, Linktree, or share it directly inside Telegram channels and social updates.

Do I need a distributor account to use audioshare?

No. You can build landing pages for any active releases or prepare smart links in advance. Just paste the pre-save URLs provided by your distributor (such as DistroKid, TuneCore, or CD Baby) during the page creation process.
